Marbled leaves, trailing charm
Manjula Pothos turns everyday greenery into something worth a second look. Its broad, heart-shaped leaves have gently wavy edges and an ever-changing mix of green, cream, and white. No two leaves look quite alike, giving even a small plant plenty of personality.
Start it on a bright tabletop, then let its vines spill from a shelf as it grows. An occasional trim helps keep the plant full, while bright, indirect light shows off its beautiful variegation. It is a lovely choice for anyone who enjoys an easygoing trailing houseplant with distinctive foliage.
- Available Size: 4-inch nursery pot.
- Light: Bright, indirect light is ideal. Avoid harsh direct sun, which can scorch the pale areas of the leaves. Lower light can slow growth and affect variegation.
- Water: Allow the top 1–2 inches of potting mix to dry before watering thoroughly. Let excess water drain, and do not leave the pot standing in water.
- Soil: Use a well-draining houseplant mix and a pot with drainage holes.
- Humidity: Adapts to typical indoor humidity but appreciates moderate humidity. Keep away from drying vents.
- Temperature: Enjoys warm indoor temperatures; protect from cold drafts.
- Feeding: Apply a balanced houseplant fertilizer at the label's recommended strength and frequency during active spring and summer growth.
- Growth Habit: A trailing or climbing vine. Prune above a node to encourage branching, or provide a support for upward growth. Size and growth rate depend on light, care, and growing conditions.
- Leaf Color: Cream, white, and green patterns vary naturally from leaf to leaf and plant to plant.
- Pet Caution: Contains insoluble calcium oxalates and is toxic if chewed or eaten. Keep away from pets and children.
Give it a bright spot and room to trail, and enjoy a fresh pattern with every new leaf.
