Caryopteris 'Pavilion Blue' #1

Caryopteris ‘Pavilion Blue’, also known as bluebeard, brings a welcome splash of blue to the garden as summer begins to wind down. Clusters of small blue flowers gather along the stems above aromatic gray-green foliage, drawing bees and butterflies to sunny borders. Its compact, rounded habit makes it a lovely choice near a path, among perennials, or in a patio container with good drainage.

• Mature Size: Approximately 18–24 inches tall and wide, depending on growing conditions
• Light: Full sun
• Bloom Time: Late summer into fall
• Flowers: Blue, held in clusters along the upper stems
• Foliage: Aromatic gray-green leaves; deciduous
• Growth Habit: Compact, rounded shrub
• Available Size: #1 container

Choose well-drained soil and a sunny location. Water regularly while roots become established, then allow the soil to dry somewhat between waterings. Avoid soggy soil, especially in winter. Prune back in early spring as new growth begins to encourage a bushy shape and flowers on the season’s new stems.
